Byblos is an Italian fashion brand that had been set up in 1973 as a division of Genny SpA. The creative heads behind the first collections were a group of stylists before the young Gianni Versace created several lines in 1975 and 1976. The French designer Guy Paulin took over from Versace before Keith Varty and Alan Cleaver became the head designers of Byblos. The company quickly evolved into a fashion brand that catered for the young, the optimistic and the joyful. The ladies' wear and men's wear collections are colorful and modern, with influences from travels all over the world. Byblos was a successful fashion brand until the public fell in love with more elegant and sophisticated designs and out of love with Byblos' fun creations.

Byblos Parfums have always been a hit with their customers. The first self-titled fragrance Byblos for women is a floral-fruity composition created by Ilias Ermenidis. Byblos Uomo, an aromatic and spicy fragrance for men, was launched in 1993 after the initial success of the ladies' perfume. In 1997 several perfumes of the brand hit the shelves. Byblos Mare, a fragrance for women, was composed of mandarin orange, lilac, waterlily, violet, rose, jasmine, vetiver sandalwood and musk. Cielo, a fresh and spicy scent based on mandarin orange, coconut, pepper, nutmeg, jasmin, lily of the valley, sandalwood, patchouly and musk. Fuoco, another ladies fragrance, represents the element of fire with notes of cinnamon, spices, sandalwood, vanilla and citruses. The rich floral Terra consists of violet, citruses, galbanum, cyclamen, rose, freesia, jasmine, orris root, heliotrope, sandalwood, cedar and musk.

The oriental-floral Uragano and the floral-green Brezza were presented in 2000. A collection of three fragrances, Musk, Sandalo and Patchouly, was presented in 2002. The perfumes are more complex and versatile than their names suggest and were composed around notes of flowers, fruits, woods and spices. In 2004 the brand presented Bamboo, another men's fragrance, as a follow-up on the original Byblos Uomo. The composition featured bamboo, citruses, spices, musk and floral accords. A line of three fragrances for men, Blu Men Energy, Blue Man Cool and Blue Man Enjoy, were launched in 2005.

2006 saw the launch of Blu Happy Hour, a fresh and fruity chypre, and Blue Light Fever, a floral-fruity composition. Byblos Water Flower hit the shelves in 2007. It is composed of peach, apple and sparkling bitter grapefruit combined with sea notes, lily of the valley, waterlily, rose and freesia. The base reveals aromatic notes of lavender, soft vanilla, Australian sandalwood and sensual white musk. In Black, a woody and aromatic perfume for men, was launched in 2011. It features grapefruit, neroli, sweet notes, vetiver, woods and resins.

The earliest edition was created in 1990 and the newest is from 2017. Byblos fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Philippe Roques, IFF, Ilias Ermenidis, Fabrice Pellegrin, Anne-Sophie Chapuis, Violaine David, Christine Nagel, Guillaume Flavigny, Daphne Bugey, Henri Bergia and Celine Ripert.
